It’s wild that you are turning 40! It seems like just yesterday that you pinned me down until I convincingly shouted You’re King! Sometimes, even Kings appreciate being reminded of their accomplishments ~ here are 40 of yours to celebrate each year of your life.
1. Chose Barbara and Ken as parents
2. Learned to swim as a baby

Posted September 16th, 2009 by adminDear Jen- Congratulations on your 40th Birthday! It truly is a milestone. I've had the privilege of getting to know you and love you for 26 of those 40 years. It's been quite the process for both of us and one in which I'm proud to say we've negotiated quite well.

Jen and RubyWe called it "The Plan." Some how, some way, our two lives would converge in one place, and we'd all live happily ever after. I don't remember when or where we'd originally conceived of it. Probably over a tasty organic meal in the Rodale cafeteria. (Back then, I think the plan included Emmaus, PA!) But as our lives evolved, so did our Plan and somehow, one day we made it a reality!

Jen,
I count my lucky stars after every encounter with you that I have you as a friend.
I have learned so much from you about how I’d like to be as I move forward in this next chapter of my life. In the few years that we’ve grown closer I’ve learned from you that it’s possible to be:

Dear Jen,
It's so hard to write a birthday message for you that sums up all that I feel for you after 32 years of friendship. (First of all, 32 years?!?!) And also I want to make it perfect - just the right blend of humor and wisdom - but, this being real life, let me make an attempt at writing a Jen-worthy note for your 40th...
